Ingredients
- 1 can of kidney beans
- 1 can of black lentils
- ½ can on crushed tomatoes
- ½ Yellow or white onion
- 5 cloves of garlic
- Olive oil or butter
- Cumin powder, paprika, garlic powder, or indian spice blend
Preparation
- Saute onions and garlic in olive oil. You want to heat the oil on medium heat. Add the diced onion with a little pinch of salt. When they start to become translucent add the garlic. Cook them until they become fragrant, slightly golden, and soft..
- Add kidney beans, lentils, and tomatoes. Cook on medium low heat for 5 mins
- Add seasoning to taste. Flavor to your preferences and simmer on medium low.
Tips
For a freshness, add cilantro on top
For extra heat, add a seeded, diced jalapeno during step 1 of preparation
Pair with fresh basmati rice on the side
